Shopping Carts
In BUY.IU, every purchase begins in the Shopping Cart. The Shopping Cart represents a collection of items selected for purchase from a supplier. Until a Requisition is submitted, it exists as a draft Cart in BUY.IU.There are two rules to keep in mind when building a Cart:
One supplier per Cart
The information entered in the Shopping Cart and the Requisition result in a Purchase Order which is sent to the supplier to request goods and/or services. This means orders must be built for one supplier at a time. You are unable to submit Carts/Requisitions which contain more than one supplier. Refer to the Moving Items document to learn how to remove items from your Cart.Cannot mix Catalog/Non-Catalog and Check Request orders
Catalog and Non-Catalog orders generate Purchase Orders which are sent to suppliers. Check Requests are forms attached to Requisitions which automate this process and result in immediate payment to the supplier. In either case, these orders begin in the Shopping Cart. You are unable to mix Catalog/Non-Catalog and Check Request orders in the Cart because these orders behave so differently. You will see an error message like the ones below if you attempt to combine these items in your Cart:
